Obesity is really a "nightmare" to everyone at any age, especially among teenagers because they are in the period of mental and physical growth. Teenagers with overweight suffer from various kinds of psychological, physical, and metal problems. There are variety of factors that can cause obesity among teenagers including unhealthy lifestyles, bad habits, diseases, unsuitable diets, and so on. However, bad habits such as lack of sleep, breakfast skip, watching television while eating, use of soft drinks are among the most direct and serious causes of overweight. Below is the list of bad habits causing obesity among teenagers and some tips to prevent this epidemic.

 

Use of soft drinks


Most of break-times at school, teenagers spend time rushing into canteens to purchase soft drinks such as Pepsi and Coca cola. Those beverages are carbonated and sweetened with either sugar or high-fructose corn syrup, and some extracts of fruit juice. Soft drinks just help them instantly ease thirst, but have bad effects on health due to a great deal of calories.

Watching television while eating

Breakfast skip

In fact, if you skip breakfast, you certainly become tired because your brain and body run low on fuel. That\'s the reason why you have to eat much more in next meals of the day.
