Biggest Loser Winner 2011 Before and After: John Rhode Lost 50% of His Body Weight

Beating out the other two finalists Antone Davis and Ramon Medeiros, John Rhode of Mesa was named "The Biggest Loser” in the finale of NBC's reality show and took home the $250,000 grand prize on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 after starting the three-month competition weighing 445 pounds and left a half a person smaller weighing in at 220 pounds. The former NFL player Antone Davis came in second place and set a new record on the show for low body fat rate when he hit 15 percent while Ramon Merdeiros came in third.


"I still don't know how I did it, but I'm grateful," the Biggest Loser winner season 12 John Rhode said right after Tuesday's live finale. "Anything is possible. I've been given a new life. Now I just want to keep working hard, stay focused and help people." John Rhode, 41, a special-education teacher and coach at Desert Ridge High School in Mesa, said his family is his motivation for wanting to live more healthfully. He and his wife, Jill have two sons, ages 5 and 8. "I feel so blessed and so fortunate," John Rhode said. "I want to thank every single contestant and every single coach." In fact, The Biggest Loser winner was trained by Dolvett Quince as part of Loser's red team this season.

John Rhode was not the only winner in the finale of NBC's reality show “The Biggest Loser”. After fighting a knee injury all season and being eliminated, Jennifer Rumple became the at-home prize winner and became the only woman to weigh-in during tonight’s Biggest Loser 12 live season finale. The at-home prize-winner was 39-year-old television producer Jennifer Rumple who won $100,000 for losing 145 pounds and almost 45 percent of her body weight.
