Did you know that NASA astronauts have special diets and eat very little, but what they do eat is richly packed with vitamins, nutrients, and all sorts of human biosystem needs? They often eat special power protein bars, and fortified liquid similar to the famous Tang drink that mother's used to buy for their kids in the 1970s and 1980s. Now then, not long ago someone asked me if the counterfeit Frappachino blended shakes I made at home were any good, specifically were they nutritious.
Indeed, I suppose nothing close to the fortified and perfectly balanced meals of NASA astronauts, but the shakes I make a home taste good. Okay fine, but it is possible to have something taste good, and still have all the essential vitamins, electrolytes, anti-oxidants, carbs, calories, protein, and nutrients needed to sustain a human being. Most serious athletes, especially serious weight lifters make protein shakes, from powder, which is heavily fortified.
Including a few more ingredients is completely possible to round out a perfectly well-balanced meal. And luckily there are companies that make such products, and many are quite tasty, actually taste like a milkshake, thus fun to drink and extremely healthy in every regard. So, as the title of this article so dutifully asks; "Can a Blended Protein Shake Really Replace a Meal?"
The answer is yes! But also realize many of these drinks and powder mixes are made by different companies. Some great, some okay, and many rather dismal from a nutritional standpoint, thus; buyer beware. Indeed, do your home work, and consider what I've said here today, look around, and pick the most appropriate meal replacement shake which makes sense for you.
