- Huge Portion’s – Too much of anything is bad for you. Even if you are eating something that is considered healthy, excessive amounts of it will make you fat. It’s important to moderate what you eat. Remember in the old days, we couldn’t just go to a store and pick up a meal. We would scavenge for it. Today, we don’t have that problem so everything we it is to excess. Control your portions and watch your calories. For consistent weight loss, try to hover around the 1200-1400 calorie range spread between 4-5 meals per day.
- The Escalator Lifestyle – You can microwave your meal in 5 minutes, you can load a dishwasher in 2 minutes, and you can pay a dog walker in 1 minute. We have become a nation of lazy people. Even simple tasks that could be done in minutes are farmed out. Lack of activity has decreased our metabolic rates. It is said that the average human should be taking about 10,000 steps per day, yet we only take 1,500. Add some movement to your lifestyle, and I don’t mean that you have to exercise 2 hours a day. From now on, take the stairs, park a little farther, and walk your own dog. Try adding a pedometer to make sure that you are getting your 10,000 steps and watch the pounds melt away.
- The Crash Diet Revolution – Every day we are on a new diet. The soup diet, the cabbage diet, and so on and so on. There is no such thing as a healthy diet. We are artificially losing weight, instead of living a healthy lifestyle. Instead of finding the hot new thing, make the choice to live healthy by eating fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean protein. Make a commitment to educate yourself as to what a healthy lifestyle consists of, and live it.
Stop jumping from bandwagon to bandwagon; make the choice to live a healthy lifestyle instead of following a fad diet. Eat healthy foods until you are full, live a more active life, and don’t follow the crowed and you will lose weight faster than you ever thought possible.
